Kim Stephens PATH INTL. CTRI, ESMHL is the founder of Strengthening Strides LLC. Kim began working in the field of equine assisted activities and therapies nearly a decade ago assisting in therapeutic riding lessons. In 2015 Kim got certified as a PATH INTL. therapeutic riding instructor and has taught lessons at multiple therapeutic riding facilities since. In 2018 Kim became certified as an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning also through PATH INTL. and has helped to facilitate equine assisted psychotherapy sessions in both Maryland and Pennsylvania ever since. In addition to her certifications Kim has experience and has helped to directly facilitate sessions in a multitude of models including both EAGALA model and Horse Boy Method.
Kim has been a horse lover her entire life and began riding at the age of eight. When she isn't connecting clients and horses you can more than likely find her out on the trail getting ready for her next Ride and Tie or Endurance Ride with Strengthening Stride's own Crockett.
Janelle Mancuso, LCSW, LCSW-C, LICSW has over 20 years of experience working in the behavioral health field and a lifetime of horsemanship knowledge. She facilitates equine assisted psychotherapy from a collaborative, holistic and integrative approach focused on effective techniques that incorporate the power of healing through equine assistance by balancing the mind, body, and spirit. Janelle is Internal Family Systems informed and is trained in Advanced Mind Body Medicine for individuals and groups. She is also trained in Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Strengths Based Treatments. She is passionate about the human experience and its connection to the natural world.
Janelle specializes in treating adults and teens living with chronic illness and treats helping professionals impacted by vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue. She works with individuals and groups experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and bereavement, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, addiction and recovery, adjustment disorders, and attachment related challenges.
Janelle received her Bachelor of Science degree from York College of Pennsylvania and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland. She practices inclusive cultural humility and actively works for equity and justice for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals and underserved communities.
